September 5 – September 12, 2012

School started this week, and I sure don’t like waking up to an alarm clock again! I find myself asleep by 10 pm, and still tired in the dark morning. Ah well, I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon! With the start of school, the activities have slowed, way down.  There are still fun things happening, and lots of upcoming activities, but, not as many as usual.  If you know of anything, please feel free to let me know, so I can include the activities here.  I will probably start publishing this bi-weekly or monthly soon.

You may remember, I started a Facebook page: Family Fun in Southwest Michigan, and so far, so good!  Please be sure to tell your friends to LIKE the new page!

As you know, I am always looking for more family friendly events to add. Please send any that you know about my way! Thank you! I just found out that you may have to log into Google to leave a message below.  Please note, you can also send me an email at: familyfuninSWMI@gmail.com.

Flick’s Family Film Fest

Starting Friday, September 7

Kids under 12 are free and adults are only $4.00.  See some family friendly movies with your children.  Check out the website for movie list, dates and times.

The first movie is: “Journey 2, The Mysterious Island.”

After surviving his Journey to the Center of the Earth, Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) is back living with his mom (Kristin Davis) and step-dad, Hank (Dwayne Johnson). Sean gets a coded message from his grandfather about the location of Jules Verne's famed "Mysterious Island." Hoping for some much-needed bonding time, Hank volunteers to go with him. In Palau, they hire a ramshackle helicopter, piloted by Gabato (Luis Guzman). Happily for Sean, Gabato's pretty daughter, Kailani (Vanessa Hudgens), comes with the deal. After crashing on the island, the explorers discover a world of tiny elephants, huge bees, and lost cities. But they also realize that they must find Sean's grandfather -- and discover a way off the island before time runs out.”
