Hello
August! I can’t believe two months of
summer has already gone by. Have you
done anything fun with your summer? Any
good vacations? We’ve been fortunate enough to be super busy, and our vacation
is coming up. Favorite activities this
summer? The girls absolutely loved the
Gymnastics camps at the YMCA in St. Joe. They loved them so much, I had to sign
them up for more gymnastics. Also, we’ve
been to the Whirlpool Fountain several times as well as the Carousel. Living in St. Joseph gives you such a wide
variety of activities, there is always something fun happening.
If
you’re trying to plan things out a little bit, take a look at my upcoming
events section. There are a lot of upcoming festivals, which sound really fun!
Here’s
some exciting news: This blog was mentioned in the Saturday, July 21st MailMax! I was so thrilled
to read about it in the local paper. For
those of you who do not live in Michigan’s Great Southwest, it’s our weekly
paper, delivered on Saturdays. It is also just one of the many places I look at
when I’m working on this blog. Thanks, again, Mr. Moody!
As
you know, I am always looking for more family friendly events to add. Please
send any that you know about my way! Thank you! I just found out that you may
have to log into Google to leave a message below. Please note, you can also send me an email
at: familyfuninSWMI@gmail.com.

Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore) wins a chance to tour Willy Wonka's (Johnny

chocolate bar that has a "golden ticket" inside. The group of
children and guardians tour the factory, where they will see the top-secret,

Movie Matinee 2:00 pm – “Willy Wonka
and the Chocolate Factory” G*
Reclusive candy mogul Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder)
comes out of hiding to announce a contest: five golden tickets will be enclosed
in candy bars to be sold throughout the world. Those finding the tickets will
receive a lifetime supply of chocolate and a tour of his mysterious factory.
Impoverished Charlie (Peter Ostrum) finds the fifth ticket, and visits the
factory with his beloved Grandpa Joe (Jack Albertson). The four other children,
who tour the factory with Charlie, suffer colorful fates when their bratty
instincts overcome them. Charlie finds himself as the only child remaining at
the end of the tour. At first he's denied the grand prize, but when he passes a
final test, Wonka rewards him with the biggest prize of all: the chocolate
factory.
